In this section, we will walk you through the steps to stream Ignite TV on Roku using your smartphone.
Steps to Watch Ignite TV on Roku
Ignite TV is a Canadian streaming app that allows users to watch on-demand content and live TV channels. Since there is no Ignite TV app in the Channel Store, you can use the screen mirroring feature to watch its content on a Roku device. Remember that you should reside in Canada and have an Ignite TV subscription to use this app. The steps below explain the process of screen mirroring Ignite TV to your device.
As a preliminary requirement, connect your Roku to WiFi, which should be the same as your Android, iPhone, or iPad.
Now, you have to enable some settings on your Roku device. Enable Screen Mirroring on Roku if you use an Android device. Go to Settings → select System → click Screen Mirroring → Screen Mirroring Mode → click Allow. To stream using an iPhone/iPad, enable AirPlay. Go to Settings → AirPlay and HomeKit → AirPlay → Turn ON.
Install the Ignite TV application on your smartphone from the Play Store or App Store. Once done, hit Open to run the Ignite TV app and click Get Started.
Follow the on-screen prompts and input the necessary Roger account credentials. Click Sign in to continue.
Successful signing will take you to the app’s home page. You can see live TV, browser, and more options on the left pane. Browse the app and play any show you want to watch.
While you play any show on the Ignite TV app on your smartphone, do the following.
For Android: Open the Notification Panel and click the Cast icon.
For iOS: Hit the Cast icon present on the video playback and choose the AirPlay & Bluetooth Devices option.
Your smartphone will start searching for devices available on the same wireless network. Choose your Roku device to connect.
Once paired, you can see the smartphone screen with the Ignite TV shows mirrored on the Roku. This way, you can play different shows on the Ignite TV app and enjoy watching them on a big screen.
