Steps to Setup Roku Device
If you have bought a new Roku device, you should set it up to start using it. The setup takes only a few minutes, so you don’t need to worry. During this process, you have to select a language, connect your Roku to WiFi, download firmware updates, customize display settings, etc. You can also stick to the same steps to set up your Roku device from scratch, even if you have reset it to factory settings.
- Pair your Remote
Once you unbox your Roku TV or Roku Streaming device, connect it and turn it on. As soon as you turn on your device, you will see the instructions to pair your TV remote. Follow the instructions and get your Roku remote paired.
- Choose Language
The next step is to choose the language in which your Roku interface should appear. You can go through the list and select the preferred language.
- Connect to WiFi
Once you choose the language, your device will start scanning for nearby WiFi networks. Select the WiFi network and enter the password to connect your Roku to WiFi.
- Software Update
After connecting to the internet, your device will look for software updates then your Roku will update itself to the latest software.
- Set Up Remote
Click the Continue button on the next page to complete the setup process of the Roku remote.
- Select your TV
Type the TV name and choose your TV brand from the result.
- Complete the Setup process of the remote
You can complete setting up your remote by pointing the remote to the TV and clicking the Yes option if you hear the music on your TV. Confirm the action by clicking Yes again and complete the setup process of the Roku remote.
- Sign In to Your Account
Sign in to your account by choosing any one of the following options displayed on the screen.
- Enter your email
On the next page enter your email and you will receive an activation mail to the acknowledged mail ID. Complete the process by entering your device name, and TV location and select the channels you want to display on your TV.
- Finish the Activation
Once the device activation is successful, the Roku device will start updating the channels within a few seconds.
Can I Set Up Roku Without a Remote?
No. Roku remote is required to configure all the necessary things. Therefore, it is impossible to complete the device setup without a remote.
Do You Need a Roku Account to Set up a Roku Device?
Of course, yes. During the setup, the device will prompt you to create or input your existing Roku account credentials. After that, you have to link your Roku device by clicking the activation link received on your email address.
