Steps to Pair a New Roku Remote
If you have bought a new Roku remote, you can easily pair it to your Roku device by visiting its settings. Luckily, Roku devices support pairing multiple remotes. Hence, depending on your requirements, you can either pair and use a standard or voice remote. Have a look at the video and follow the given instructions to pair your new Roku remote effortlessly.
- Go to Roku Settings
Power on your Roku TV. Use the navigational button to scroll down and highlight Settings. Then press the OK button to open it.
- Click Remotes & Devices
Hit the right navigational button to go to the Remotes & Devices section.
- Tap Remotes
In the Remotes & devices section, press the right arrow key on the remote to highlight the Remotes tile. Then, press the OK key on a remote.
- Hit Add a new remote
On the next page, hit the right navigational button, scroll down, and highlight the Add a new remote option. Once done, press the OK key on the Roku remote.
- Locate the Microphone Pinhole
On the next page, you will be asked to locate the Microphone Pinhole on your remote. Look at your remote and select the appropriate option.
- Press the Pairing button.
Now, the Roku device will ask to set up a remote. Hold the Pairing button on your new Roku remote for 5 seconds to pair it with your device.
How Do You Sync a Roku Remote Without a Pairing Button?
If your Roku remote doesn’t have a pairing button, hold the Back and Home buttons for five seconds. If the status light starts to blink, the remote is in pairing mode.
Can You Pair a New Roku Remote Without Using an Old Remote?
Yes. It can be done with the Roku app. First, get the Roku app on your smartphone from the Play Store or App Store. Then, connect your Roku to WiFi, which should be the same as your phone.
