Steps to Install Apps on Roku
All Roku devices have built-in streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, etc. If the app you desired doesn’t come pre-installed, don’t worry. You can manually add channels on your device by visiting the Roku Channel Store. It has over 23,000 apps in categories such as shows, movies, news, music, sports, shopping, etc. Let’s see the installation process in simple steps.
- Navigate to Streaming Channels.
After turning on the Roku, you will see the home screen with the pre-installed apps on the right side and options on the left side. On the left side pane, navigate to Streaming Channels and hit the OK button on the Roku remote.
- Pick an App Category.
On the next screen, you will be taken to the Channel Store. Here, you will see a list of categories, like Education, Entertainment, Comedy, Fitness, and more. Select the category of the app.
Note: Alternatively, select the Search Channels and manually search for the app.
- Select the app you want to download.
Under the chosen category, navigate to the app you intend to install and click the OK button to open the app info page.
- Tap +Add Channel.
Finally, you need to select the +Add Channel button on the app description screen. This will start the download process. Once installed, click OK, and you will see the button, Go to Channel. Select this option to launch the app and use it.
Can I Download Apps From the Roku Website?
Yes. You can install apps on Roku by going to the Roku Channel Store website. Just use the same Roku account credentials you use on the device to sign in. Then, search for the app on the Channel Store and click +Add Channel to install the app. After adding the channel, turn on your Roku, and the channel will be added immediately.
Why Can’t I Add Channels to Roku?
The primary reason for this problem is the poor internet connection. If the Roku is connected to unstable WiFi, you might have difficulty in adding the channel. So, connect the Roku to a stable WiFi and start the installation process again. The second reason is minor bugs or temporary malfunctions. This can be fixed by restarting your Roku.

How Do You Add a Beta Channel to Roku?
