Steps to Stream Discord on Roku
Discord is a communicative platform where you can chat, make voice or video calls, and play games with friends. Discord has not been released in the Channel Store, so you can’t install the app on your Roku device. Instead, you can stream the Discord content wirelessly by mirroring your smartphone. Follow the steps below to do so.
- Connect Roku and phone to the same WiFi
As a preliminary requirement, connect your Roku to WiFi, which should be the same as your phone.
- Enable Screen Mirroring or AirPlay
After setting up WiFi, enable AirPlay or Screen Mirroring on Roku.
To enable AirPlay, go to Settings → Select AirPlay and Homekit → Turn AirPlay ON. For Screen Mirroring, open Settings → System → Screen Mirroring → Screen Mirroring Mode → Allow. - Get the Discord on Mobile
Now, pick your mobile and launch the Discord app. If you haven’t installed the app, get it from the Play Store or App Store.
- Sign in and get into the App
Once you launch the app, you can see the sign-in portal. Provide your mobile number or username and password and click Log In. If you are a new user, click on the Register option and complete the process. Then, you will land on the app’s home page. Add a friend and start a chat.
- Hit the Cast or Screen Mirroring
After opening a chat or content, follow the respective steps on your mobile.
Android: Open the Notification Panel and click the Cast icon.
iPhone: Go to the Control Center and click the Screen Mirroring icon. - Select Roku
Now, your smartphone will display a list of devices that are available for wireless mirroring. Select your Roku device from the list to connect.
